Custom Bobbleheads – Difference Between Polyresin and Polymer Clay

As we know, China is the biggest factory on the world, China sell many things all over the world including custom bobble heads. In fact most of them are just a “middle man”, as they past the orders to China factory and the factory send the final product back to them, finally they send the doll to the customer.

There are two types of materiels with two different ways to creat your owned custom bobble head, one is polyresin, and the other one is Polymer Clay, Now let us have a look at the two types of materials that are being used in the production of custom bobble heads and discuss the pluses and minuses of each.

Polyresin Bobblehead:

Polyresin is popular in factory production, it is a good choice as long as there is large production that runs of 100 pieces or more. when production with polyresin, the factory highly sculpt the mold and then compound resin compound to replicate thousands of the product, at last apply paint. The strength of polyresin is desirable, When using in the production of these products, the end result is durable. Most of the mass produced custom bobble heads that you see on the market or at giveaways at baseball stadiums are made with polyresin material.

Polymer Clay Bobblehead:

Polymer Clay is a material could be used to create the single pieces that people desired. Polymer clay is a sculptable material based on the polymer polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It usually contains no clay minerals, and is only called “clay” because its texture and working properties resemble those of mineral clay. It is sold in craft, hobby, and art stores, and is used by artists, hobbyists, and children. Polymer Clay is highly sculptable, workable but inexpensive. when production with Polymer Clay, the final product is 100% handmade.

So, which one is better? As mentioned, polyresin is a customizable material and is very sturdy, but is quite expensive. If looking for single piece personalized bobbleheads, one piece could cost around $200. But with polymer clay, you will get the same customization except at the expense of structure strength. The cost of polymer clay custom bobble heads is in the neighborhood of $100.

What’s more, since Polymer Clay sculpts with the finished product, so its color is the color of the clay, which makes the final product brighter, true 3D likeness and higher quality. However, if made with poly resin clay, they bake and mold the dolls, and then apply paint – and that’s your doll.

Supplies for Beginning Artists

I have a lot of people ask me, “What are some art supplies that a beginning artist should have?” Every artist is different, but generally what follows answers this question. Supplies for Drawing There is an endless amount of drawing materials available for artists. Therefore, choosing what supplies are relevant for the beginner can be overwhelming.  It wouldn’t be hard to find yourself with too many unless supplies, if you don’t know what you’re looking for.  Because there are so many drawing supplies out there, I am going to sub-divide this category even further into “Black and White Drawing” and “Color Drawing”

Supplies for Black and White Drawing

1.  3 or 4 quality soft graphite drawing pencils- I suggest 2B, 4B, and 6B.  A regular #2(HB) pencil is also recommended.
2.  a sturdy sketchbook
3. a pink pearl eraser, a vinyl eraser, and a kneaded eraser
4.  a blending stump or two
5. high quality drawing paper of at least 11″ by 14″
6. Vine charcoal
7. Compressed charcoal (black)

Supplies for Drawing in Color

1. High quality colored pencils- pay more for a high quality.  If price becomes an issue, buy a pack that contains less colors.  There is a huge difference in quality among colored pencil manufacturers.
2. Colored drawing paper- If you can’t decide what colors to get, start out with “grays”.
3. Chalk pastels

Your Silver Clay Project Will Be Flawless With These Tips

Silver clay? Whatever is that?

Silver clay, precious metal clay, art metal clay, and art clay silver are all different terms and types of “clay” that may be magically turned into gold and silver.

These innovative metal clays were introduced to the North American market in the nineties. Jewelry enthusiasts and hobbyists can now shape and mold precious metal as easily as clay.

Making jewelry naturally has a long history. The difference today is that you now do not have to bang or cast your metal to make jewellery if you don’t wish to. Silver clay now makes it feasible to make real metal forms without these traditional methods.

Here is how metal clay functions. Art metal clays are composed of fine metal particles suspended in an organic binder. This binder lets you mould and shape the clay as you would potter’s clay. When you are happy with the form, you let your project dry for no less than twenty-four hours ( or even more ). You then fire it in a kiln or by employing a hand torch. The binder burns away, leaving the fused metal behind in the shape you formed it.

Before you grab a lump of silver clay and go at it though, you will need to keep 1 or 2 rules under consideration. Silver clay isn’t cheap, so you don’t want to waste it.

Silver Clay Tips

Here are a bunch of tips for working with silver clay :

*Metal clays shrink 10-30% when fired. Be sure to check your package for shrinkage levels particularly if you are making rings or other objects that must be exact fits.

*Metal Clay simply takes on impressions of other objects ( and fingerprints too ). Experiment with different textures and objects to make imprints onto the wet clay.

*Be sure to let your metal clay dry fully before firing. Firing damp clay won’t work and you will not be a happy camper.

*Metal clays are sticky to the touch so be sure to coat everything with a thin film of olive oil or other release agent. This suggests coat your hands, your tools, and work surface. Just a touch of oil will do, so don’t go too far.

*You can improve drying time by placing your piece in a low heat stove. ( 150-200 degrees fahrenheit ). Pieces finely than your palm usually take approximately twenty-four hours to fully dry and toughen without the cooker treatment.

*Sand your dried and hardened piece before firing. If you do not like fingerprints, you will not be well placed to remove them after firing.

*Metal clay is soluble and can be fell with water. Keep a tiny bowl of water or a spritzer handy while you’re employed. If it starts to dry out while working, you can add a bit of water to dampen it.

*You can extend the working time of your metal clay by adding a drop or 2 of glycerin ( available at drug stores ) to your newly opened package of silver clay. To use : make a depression with your thumb in the clay, and add a drop or 2 of glycerin. Fold the clay a couple of times to mix in the glycerin, then spritz with water. Wrap in plastic wrap and let sit so the clay can absorb the glycerin. When you work with the clay the following day, use as always. This trick will extend the working time, but also extends the drying time required before firing.

*If you see a blackish mildew, do not be disturbed. This will burn away when firing. This mildew takes place when you use regular tap water to moisten the clay.

*Playing cards make great “spacers” when rolling out clay to an even thickness. Just stack cards on each side of the clay, then use your roller to roll out the clay between the cards.

*To store metal clay between uses, be certain to spritz with water and wrap it well with plastic wrap.

*different clays have different firing temperatures so be certain to match your firing temperature to your clay type.

*Once fired, you must brush and burnish it to get a great shine. First brush well with a stiff brush to loosen any ash or residue, then rinse with water. Then you’ll be wanting to burnish the metal to compress it, make it smoother, and shinier. Utilise a burnishing tool made from agate or metal for this. The tool has a smooth face and pointy tip for burnishing the more detailed areas.

*You can dunk the piece in water after firing to chill it quickly .

*Firing you clay too shortly, at too low a temperature, or for too short a time may cause your project to crack. Firing for too much time may melt some of the detail.

Art is a God gift to us. We can make everything that we have in our mind. I have very much interest in Art work or you can say it’s my habit of doing all these things like paintings, drawings, sketching from my childhood. These are my childhood friends. We can create a lot with our imagination. When you paint a portrait the key to success is to capture everything that eyes tell, it’s your mind that tells you to when you have to move your hand to make alive that thing from nonliving thing. Every artist has different views and different thinking, according to me if we draw an object we can give it life. We can make it real.

As an artist when I am going to paint or draw i always looking for the sense of movement in my art work, colour that shows it is living and source of life that grows inside. Art work should be from our heart. Like cartoon makers could make any animal, non living things come to life, you can see them walking, breathing, talking, you can hear them, they can think. Your painting should have a life of its own. When you look at a flower you see roots, stem, and leave that all together make flower so beautiful and it is the flower that shows life. You can make it real with beautiful colours, then you can see your object will not be an object it will become real thing. I like real life paintings. In first sight you can say it is photogenic but it’s not. Meaning of true Art is to combine the both heart and soul and bring your picture to life. Question yourself or discover what’s makes your Art dance and sing. Art does not only exist for theory, we should feel it practically. Whenever you start your work you should be complete it with your full presence of mind because finished Art work will give you more confidence than half finished. You should concentrate on your work to make it real like famous painting Mona Lisa. Mona Lisa is painted by famous painter Leonardo da Vinci. This painting is famous for “enigmatic smile” or Mona Lisa smile. We can feel it as real. It is the most expensive Art work in the human history. If your paintings come from your depth of heart it will look real life paintings.

I love to paint, I use to sketch whatever I think or I have in my mind. Art lives in my soul and mind, even in dream i can paint can imagine that how to change dream idea into real life. I dream a lot i do more painting when I am not painting, it’s in subconscious, many paintings or drawings are my dream ideas. We can express our feelings with the help of our Art. I am great fan of Iman Maleki famous Artist of Iran and French Artist William bouguereau.I am not a great Artist myself, but i am always moved by great Art, Art is not just beauty recreated, it is an expression of love, passion and heart’s deepest emotions…you need some inspiration to pick up your paint brush…and paint this world with beautiful colours….

3 Craft Ideas for Preschoolers

Most children who are in preschool love spending time doing crafts. Generally speaking, preschools have no formal education system and are often compared to playschools. This guideline will provide you with three easy craft idea for young children. 1. Cookie Cutter Project

All you need for this craft project is a package of construction paper and different plastic cookie cutters. Of course, what shape cookie cutters you use is totally your decision. However, to make the project interesting for children, you may want to use cutters that are shaped like animals. Ask your preschoolers to trace it onto the sheet of construction paper using a crayon or pencil. You can then cut the shape out for them, or if they can handle it, allow them to cut the shapes out on their own using children safe scissors. Most preschoolers will have a blast using crayons and colored pencils to decorate their cut-outs.

2. Face Craft Project

The face craft project is a great idea for all preschoolers. Like the cookie cutter one, all you need to have on hand is different colored construction paper. You will likely already have scissors, glue, crayons and colored pencils. For this craft idea, ask your preschoolers to trace a face on a piece of skin tone construction paper and then cut it out. You can then have the kids cut out eyes, lips and a nosethat can be glued onto the face. Once the face is assembled, you can allow your preschoolers to draw hair onto the face and add on any other features. If you have paper that is big enough, you can even expand this craft project and have children trace their entire body on the sheet of paper and decorate that.

3. Supermarket Basket Project

Most young children love going to the supermarket with their parents. For this craft idea, all you need are some old magazines, glue and construction paper. On the construction paper, have your preschoolers draw and cut out a shopping basket like they have seen in the store before. You can then give them some old magazines and ask them to go through and cut out any pictures of bread, milk, vegetables, chocolate bars, fruit and any other food items that they see. Using the glue, they can then attach the pictures that they cut out to the shopping basket and decorate the basket as they see fit using colored pencils and crayons. This project can get messy, so you may want to use glue sticks instead of liquid glue.
