looking for layette kits ( hand embroidery) for infants receiving blanket, jacket, gown, and made of flannel?
We use to find them in the 5 and dime store’s in the 60′s
Unfortunately, I think they are regarded as passé! Even when my son was born in the late 70s, they were impossible to find, and I sewed, and my mother-in-law knitted, what we used to call a layette over here in the UK as well. It was standard once upon a time, but died out when ‘Baby-Gros’ came in.
