The Beauty Within….
It’s not easy in today’s society to actually feel beautiful. We tend to as ladies are bombarded everywhere we turn by images and voices telling us we have a tendency to are imperfect creatures. Various dollars are made by numerous companies and advertisers telling us WE will achieve perfection via the acquisition of some “beauty” product; eating or NOT eating bound foods, exercising with this piece of kit or that one, camouflaging or uncovering certain body parts…Lord, it never ends.
Sadly, for an unlimited number of ladies we ‘buy’ into it, literally. We pay dollar when dollar on cosmetic product that one at a time compile in our “create-up” drawer, exercise videos and exercise equipment by one ‘perfect’ physical specimen when another (who because of our onerous-earned money will now afford liposuction), chemical processes and extensions in our hair to attain the foremost “flattering’ designs, we have a tendency to provide bodies up to the sacrificial alter of beauty to be plucked, waxed, shaved , exfoliated, nipped, tucked and for what? Thus we will continue to chase the invariably unattainable beauty ideal?
Don’t get me wrong, I prefer to shave my legs, I wear nail polish and lipstick and create-up (when I apprehend I’m going somewhere groovier than the food market), and I don’t wear socks with sandals. However I’d like to think that if sooner or later I awoke and couldn’t wear one cosmetic product, relax my ethnic hair or lose that additional 5 lbs; I would know that I was still a lovely woman. And extraneous physical accouterment’s aside, I would not cease to be a lovely unique human being.
This is what concerns me currently that I’ve got a daughter. I scrutinize the long run and dread the day when she will return home crying (as many kids do) as a result of somebody at faculty told her she was ugly. As we have a tendency to all know youngsters will be cruel and most times they’re repeating the items they hear and learn at home.
I would really like to be in a position to not just tell her with my loving words but additionally show her by my life example that she may be a stunning girl. I need her to determine that she is beautiful; not as a result of of what she wears on her body, applies to her face or hair or by how abundant she weighs. I want my daughter to grow old with the
data that true beauty is what comes from inside and radiates outside within the acts of kindness and thought you give to others, the manner you’re keen on and respect yourself, the thrill you are taking in sharing time with family and friends, and the sacrifices you create thus that others can be happy. True beauty is loving yourself no matter what your shade, size, financial or academic situation. I hope as she grows up during this increasingly appearance obsessed world, that she can pass each reflection of herself with a smile of security and peace. I am only just reaching that place myself.
It has taken me several years of spending and self-doubt to finally notice that you can’t find in a very bottle that that will solely come back from within.
