Can I burn pine lumber in a wood furnace?
Is it safe to burn pine lumber in a furnace and how energy efficient is it?
You can burn just about any dry wood. But like the other person answered, pine burns fast. It also leaves high creosote residue. You would need to clean your chimney out more often. Efficiency is normally not the main issue with burning wood. A person usually burns what can be got locally cheaply. The harder woods like oak , hickory , black locus are preferred in my area.
