How To Make Wedding Flowers
Wedding ceremonies are made up of many integral parts – one of which is flowers. The use of them has developed beyond just mere decoration, and they are now as much a part of wedding traditions as anything else. In fact, can you even remember the last time that you went to a wedding at which there was not any flowers?
They are more than just something nice to look at; they represent new hope and a prosperous future. Done right, they create a heaven like environment, and intensify the feelings of joy being experienced by the bride.
So, what are the steps that need to be taken to ensure that flowers used at a wedding are perfect for the occasion?
1) Choosing Flowers
Always keep the theme and colors of the wedding in mind when choosing what flowers to use. It should match and blend well with the entourage and the brides gown too. The types of flowers you choose are also important, so do not just focus on the color. Do a little research and find out what flowers are in season at the time of the wedding. By being knowledgeable about this, you can get the freshest looking flowers at the best possible price.
2) Additional Materials
The bouquet that the bride carries on the aisle is where the flowers play a major part. It is very easy to create your own. First, gather up your materials. You will need about three dozens of your chosen flower, a sharp scissor, florist tape, and ribbons.
3) Creation Of The Bouquets
This is one of the many various ways that you take your flowers and arrange them into a beautiful bouquet. Select three flowers, of the same type, that you particularly like, and that you want to make the centerpiece of the bouquet. Arrange these three flowers into the shape of a triangle, with each one being at a slightly different height to the other two. Continue to add two or three flowers at a time to this initial triangle, until the arrangement resembles a dome. After which, you can tie them up with a florist tape at least 8 inches below the flowers. This is really more than a one person job as, for a perfect result, you will need one person to hold the flowers together (there could be well be 36 in a single bouquet) whilst the other one tapes them.
4) Add The Final Touches
Finally, finish the arrangement with suitable ribbons that match the color of the flowers and the wedding dress. You can tie them up in a bow. Be sure to cover all the florist tape with ribbons. Carefully cut the excess stems with a sharp scissor approximately an inch below the ribbon. Place the bouquet on a plastic container or a vase with a quarter inch of water or you can store them inside a fridge covered by a loose plastic bag. Finally, spray the flowers with water avoiding the ribbons.
