Has anyone taken a different route in telling your child about Santa Claus?
Any ideas/reasons for telling your child either differently or not about Santa Claus?
We just had to tell my 10 year old son a few weeks ago cause he said all the kids in his class were telling him he is not real and he wanted to know. We told him that he was real at one point in time (St. Nicolas) and told him the whole story of the real St. Nick. We told him that to continue the great things that St. Nick had started Santa was created and now Santa is in all of us. We are now letting him play Santa to his little sister this year, letting him stay up later and eat cookies and stuff. He was sad about it, but he understands why we carried on such a great tradition that was started many many years ago.
