I am sewing a dress for my cousins wedding. I am using simplcity pattern 5052. I am a size 20, but I am only an A cup in the bust, as a I have a very broad back, how do I make it so I have less room in the front and more in the back?
I can’t find a photo of 5052, so I don’t know precisely what you’re working with. However, decreasing the cup size is the inverse of a large bust adjustment — you overlap instead of spread the pattern:

How do I safely remove the edge tile from a backsplash without damaging other tiles?
We recently had a granite tile backsplash installed (4 X 4 tiles) and it does not match up (counter was cut too long) with the edge of the new countertop (which was installed after the backsplash). Therefore, I need to remove the granite edging (pencil piece) without damaging the tiles next to it so we can add tiles. Any ideas?? Thanks.
if you have grout between the tiles you can use a grout file, which looks like a small butter knife with carbide brazed on the blade. then use a stiff blade putty knife to remove the edge tile. you probably will break the edge tiles during the process. take your time to avoid scarring the field tiles.

I know in ancient times, there would be circles of women who would sit together and work their craft together. Are there any names for those circles?

For example, lets say you decided to call the group The Thread Circle. Then you went online and used a free translator and changed the english word thread to the german word faden. If you follow the instructions, you should not have an issue.
( 1) Choose which version you want to make.
( 2) The back of the envelope will indicate type of fabric, amount and notions (buttons, thread, etc).
( 3) If you choose flannel, purchase an extra 1/4 yard…it tends to shrink quite a bit.
( 4) Lightly wash, dry and press the fabric before cutting.
( 5) Refer back to the instructions and circle or mark each piece needed for the version you want to sew.
( 6) Go through the instructions and circle or “X” those that pertain to the version selected.
( 7) Cut these pattern pieces out of the tissue according the the size.
( Refer to the layout – fold fabric right sides together with the selvages edges meeting. The selvage edges are the tightly woven edges that sometimes have color codes (circles of color) and/or needle holes from the manufacturing process. Avoid using when laying out the pattern. To get a smooth fold, hold the folded fabric up by the selvages and the fold should be smooth, if not side one layer of the fabric to the left or right until the fold no longer bunches or wrinkles.
( 9) Pin the pattern pieces to the fabric and cut along the size line on the pattern.
(10) Following the instructions, sew the sections as described.

What are fun ways to make personalized quilt blocks?
I want to make 12X12 inch quilt blocks and need some fun creative ideas. I have never done this before, but want to personalize each block. This will be an Xmas gift and I don’t have a lot of spare time so I am not looking for time consuming ideas. Ideas? I know I can search the net, but what have some of you done to personalize and make special quilts? Will be for a five year old niece.
