Exercise and Diet routine for effective results. Please and Thank you to all!:)?
Hey guys, I’m on a weight loss kick.. I’m starting school in about two weeks and I really want to get on a proper diet and exercise plan before school starts. Can anyone help with this? I would LOVE if you could give me details, step-by-step, of what worked for you, or just some helpful diet tips and exercises I can do at home that will be effective and show me some fantastic results. I realize, of course, that these results won’t be overnight, but still, I would love to start this diet and exercise program ASAP! Thanks to all! All answers are appreciated. Best answer is the one with the most detail. I really appreciate everything! Oh, and by the way, I don’t have a set of weights at my house, or anything, I do have a treadmill though. Please don’t mention any expensive diets or weight sets.. I can’t afford that. I’d just appreciate something that I can do easily and won’t break me as far as money goes. Thanks!
Hey I completely understand where you’re coming from. I’m going to give you some “tips”, but remember, it normally takes around 30 days of a consistent routine to make it a habit.
Eat smart. I want you to fall in love with colorful foods-not skittles
, but rather the vegetables. Say you don’t like them….okay, well, there’s an issue. Don’t be buying protein powders or anything like that. We have natural food for a reason-we’re supposed to eat it properly. Like, a dough-nut every once in a while isn’t gonna kill you, but keep it as a treat. Vegetables will (if you invite them to be) become your best friends. You can do anything with them. If you like to cook, that’s all the better. Stock up on protein. I know it is kind of pricey, but it’s worth it. Chicken, turkey, fish (one of the BEST sources of protein with 0 carbs), and some red meat here and there-keep away from pork as there is hardly any nutritional value in it whatsoever. Only heart problems and other mishaps. Steer clear of pork and any alcohol (even in cooking). As always, drink LOTS of water. I know this is TMI, but a person should usually take a “numba 2″ at least once daily. A salad, water and some protein will do that for you. Now, don’t go low-to-no carbing, as grains and the like are very good for you.
Lots of rules here, but one of the biggest ones is that you can’t ditch exercise with a good meal plan or viceversa I recently (over the last 9 months) had two patellar (kneecap) dislocations and it’s been really hard for me to get back into exercise-something I really need. You’ve got a treadmill, great! Try to experiment with it. Don’t kill yourself, but have fun exercising. try an hour everyday-even if it hurts. Try going 2.5 miles one day and if it’s too easy kick it up a notch-get your heart healthy. Really appreciate your body because when something’s wrong inside, your whole world comes crashing down. My doctor told me to do an hour one a bike three days a week and I’d lose about 40 pounds in around 3 months-very healthy rate. Well, guess what?? I didn’t. I didn’t have a bike then, and I didn’t make the right choices. Since then I’ve gone up about 11 pounds, but I’ve been controlling my weight recently and I’m back to only 3.2 pounds over what I was I think. Now, don’t imagine me as a super thin 6.0 ft tall model or anything. I’m like 5’9″-10″ and 230.0 pounds. Now it’s been just about 3 months and I’m trying. I’ve got the bike now, but I can’t find the time to ride it-i’m going to turn it into a stationary with that bike trainer thingy (god willing). I’ve got a month of fasting on account of my religion starting monday, so maybe i’ll lose ten pounds or so. Don’t do like I did-DON’T TAKE YOUR TIME!! lol…nah jp, take your time, but use it wisely. Don’t get obsessive, though sometimes it’s how our minds just take over. One of the best benefits of exercising, and you may not believe me but you will, it’s a wonderful stress-reliever and skin-clearer (if that’s a word). You sweat/work out all (or most) of the toxins in your body, making them come to a surface in either zit form or sweat. And if your mad at your trig teacher, imagine running out of his classes as the bell strikes (while on the treadmill of course, don’t let me get you into trouble).
You can do it. I don’t know you, but I know you can. try to keep some motivation with you at all times….a wristband, perhaps?? I love those. Or a special crayon or something lol. Always, and I mean even on those days when you feel like if someone were to flush you down a toilet you wouldn’t care, always always always keep yourself determined. If you can do the exercise and be super chef on your worst days, you can do it all the time. Oh, and if this helped you at all, copy and paste it into a word processor and print it out, from there fold it up into a small triangle and keep it in your pocket and out of the wash….or you could remember me as the girl who gave advice ![]()
And I seriously don’t care about the points system or best answer stuff here-I just wanna help.
So, motivation, determination, and realism. then comes FOOD and exercise (we all love food. it’s just how we are, it’s human nature.) Not everything good in life is bad, fattening or illegal. We’ve just got to find the real “good”.
