Can you shoot a running white tail deer at 390-400 yards with either a .243 or a .270?
My cousin said he shot a white tail deer while running at 390-400 yards but didn’t say what shell he used but he only has a .243 and a .270 (Gun). He has been known to lie so I’m going to find out if this is true or not because I don’t know that much about guns.
He said as soon as the deer’s nose came into his scope he shot :p
And 2 seconds went by before it hit the deer :p :p
I have seen a running coyote shot, at over 400 yards. And they are much smaller than a deer. But shooting at a varmint running is quite different than a game animal. It’s considered bad mojo to shoot deer like that. It’s a damn good way to just wound one and have it run off to die never to be recovered.
So sure it can be done but shouldn’t be done.
